What does this price mean? This is the price (excluding shipping and handling fees) a seller has provided at which the same item, or one that is nearly identical to it, is being offered for sale or has been offered for sale in the recent past. The price may be the seller's own price elsewhere or another seller's price. The 'off' amount and percentage simply signifies the calculated difference between the seller-provided price for the item elsewhere and the seller's price on eBay. If you have any questions related to the pricing and/or discount offered in a particular listing, please contact the seller for that listing. Product Information. Blending ground-based shooting with outer space combat, Bounty Hunter is a sci-fi adventure starring a former soldier named Mace Griffin. After being framed and imprisoned for the murder of his brothers-in-arms, Griffin returns to society as a bounty hunter who has vowed to find out who or what is responsible.
As he explores the far reaches of space searching for information, Griffin will make contact with an assortment of human and alien characters, both friend and foe.Bounty Hunter's open-ended gameplay offers randomly generated missions to increase the main character's notoriety and personal wealth. Cash received from successful missions can be used to upgrade firearms and ship weapons at specific shops. While the majority of action is played from a first-person viewpoint on the ground, the act of traveling to and from destinations is accomplished via spaceship.
Hostile encounters with creatures in space may also affect relations with that particular race on the surface. As the main character gains renown across the galaxy, players will be able to unravel more of the story and embark on specific missions designed to further the main plot. United Kingdom developer Warthog also designed a special engine called TUSK, allowing for complete movement in and out of the spaceship without the use of cut-scenes or transition sequences. In-game environments include space stations, battle cruisers, and various planetary surfaces as players move one step closer to solving the conspiracy. There are better FPS games to spend your money on.Mace Griffin reminds me of the games that appeared during the FPS rise of the 90's in the wake of Doom. It gets the job done, but doesn't offer as positive and experience as the top notch titles can.
It’ll certainly please a lot of people in this regard. Avalanche studios – despite making an utterly gorgeous wee game with some lovely, lovely dust trails – have very strictly adhered to tradition. But grown-up(ish) Brendan gets fed up with a lot of these strictures. While I can get on board having a set number of lives along with the much respected Game Over screen, the attitude to power-ups is a touch archaic. Renegade ops ps3 review.
As such, it feels dated and tiresome.Mace Griffin does have a solid base to build on. The single-player campaign is a decent size, and should provide you with a respectable number of hours of game-play. The length of the missions however are one of it's downfalls.
It suffers from that dual personality of having respectable check-points but distant save points. The majority of your time will be playing in standard first-person-shooter style, but there are a significant number of in-ship missions. For these you'll be placed in a space ship of some kind (and they will vary a little bit) and be sent out to hunt down other ships. There’s a standard selection of guns and missiles to choose from in each of the vessels, but it’s the controls that set it back the most. I found having to use the R-Stick for pitching and turning awkward.
They don’t help the timed missions you’ll be thrown into while flying about. As for the levels when you’re on your feet, I found the environments started to feel rather bland. Lots of repetitive architecture when you're inside buildings and hallways with piles of closed doors that don’t open. The levels do feel rather large, which is nice, but it's annoying during the times in certain levels where there's backtracking required to get to various way-points which aren’t connected in a fluid manner. There’s lots of weapons for you to tote along the way through the corridors, but I found ammo to be scarce in the later levels I played, and I only managed to curb my apathy towards the game until I reached about half way through it.At least when the action is happening it’s fairly fast paced, heavy, and gives a decent challenge. Unfortunately things like ridged movement of you character and cumbersome controls with weapons like the sniper rifle get in the way of that action. The broken AI will upset some players, no doubt.
The snipers have incredible aim (as I suppose they should) yet on the other end of the spectrum I’ve caught some foes keeping completely still while I stand nose-to-nose with them. Usually in these cases they’ll start moving when I give them a swat with my club, but in some cases they seem to take a couple hits before waking up. And for those that like a good story, prepare to hear this one with voice characters that range from annoying to uninterested. Henry Rollins sounds particularly bored when portraying the main character. With a couple more coats of polish, this FPS could have been amazing; but with it’s lack of attention to detail, and some refinement needed in most things it has done right, there's simply more engaging FPSes out there that I would recommend spending your time on.
It may have been something new and 'good enough' to keep die hard FPS fans busy at the time, but I can’t see much reason to play it today.
